The Student Board Spring Fundraiser is an annual fundraiser led by Urban Initiatives' (UI) Student Board, made up of 40+ high school students in the Chicagoland area that regularly volunteer and support UI throughout the year.
UI's programs are typically a robust catalog of in person, after-school programming for Chicago Public School (CPS) students. Due to the pandemic, UI has had to stop in person programming and has been hosting all program sessions virtually for students. During virtual sessions, UI utilizes play-based social-emotional learning activities to help students learn about self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship skills. In addition, UI has focused on providing students with resources and tools to utilize connection for the sake of resiliency and healing. This pandemic has only exacerbated the stress and challenges that UI’s students face and it is important for the team to foster sustainable, collective and youth-centered healing.
The Spring Fundraiser will support UI's programming as we reach the light at the end of the tunnel and look forward to transitioning back to in-person programming this summer and fall.
Your support of the Student Board Spring Fundraiser will help to impact the youth of Chicago and provide them with continued access to UI's impactful play-based, social-emotional learning programming. Your support is greatly appreciated!
