Tiberius Xavier Daltoso, born Nov 1st (35w6d) at 6:35pm, 6lbs 13oz & 19in long (the exact same as his big brother!).
After being in the hospital for over 3wks, I was induced for preeclampsia. Ty was taken to the NICU after a couple minutes of skin to skin, and stayed there for four days before having his first of three surgeries for his congenital heart defect (Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, Tricuspid Atresia, Pulmonary Atresia, and an Atrial Septal Defect).
His first surgery (on Nov 5th) went well, and although recovery was slow (he had a hard time coming off the ventilator), we came home after a month, and he‘s been growing like a weed now that he’s home!
Ty is an amazingly sweet and strong boy, and we are so proud of the strides he’s making. He will have another surgery this spring (Mar-Apr for the Glenn), and then we’ll hopefully have a couple of years until his third surgery (the Fontan).
Big brother Aeneas loves Ty so much! He loves singing to him, and bringing books for us read to him.
We’re taking each day as it comes. Some days have setbacks, and some days we go forward, but every day is filled with love and joy that you are with us Tiberius.
