Our Santa Fe River, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization started over a decade ago to stop water bottling plants from taking water from Florida's springs. After successfully stopping four bottling operations, we went on to educate about and advocate for the Santa Fe River, its springs and tributaries and the Floridan Aquifer.
In 2019, Nestle Water North America negotiated a deal with Seven Springs Water Co. (a company with common family ownership of Ginnie Springs Campground) to take almost one million gallons a day out of Ginnie Springs for bottling. The Santa Fe River and its springs are flowing at well below minimum flow levels and have been deemed "in recovery" for years.
Our Santa Fe River has been trying to persuade the Suwannee Water Management District to deny this permit, and on the eve of denial, Seven Springs filed an administrative lawsuit. Now we need legal representation to make our voices heard.
We believe we can prevail but need additional funds to sustain our efforts. Please help us keep the Santa Fe River bottle-free!
