Stony Brook Shines for Others was started out of a desire to benefit children in our community. If you haven't visited our "shining wonderland" it is time that you did!
Located in The Stony Brook Subdivision between Pleasantview and Walden Avenue in Lancaster, there are more than 300 decorated houses and hundreds of trees that line the 9 streets. The numbers are growing each year for the 2 month long fundraising campaign.
Each year more and more people take a ride through our neighborhhod to enjoy the decorations and lights during the holiday season. Some drive, park and walk or get a van of friends, even horse drawn carriages and buses have visited.
The kick off to the Winter Illumination Specatucular with a cause is Thanksgiving night through January 1st. We are proud to make our neighborhood a travel destination each night (from dusk till 10pm or so) but we are even more proud to say that we are raising money at the same time.
By making a donation, residents, business owners and holiday visitors alike, help support a different children's base charity each and every year. This year we have chosen to raise money for WNY Heroes and we are happy that we have. Please visit our website at www.stonybrookshines.com for more details, information on past campaigns and to see why we are rated the top destination for holiday lights in WNY.
