As a challenging year ends for all of us, please help us fundraise $3,000 to replace our stolen trailer! After years of saving $1,700 and installing close to $6,000 worth of security measures, we are finally ready to take the next step of enhancing our garden-based programming to address of climate change and food insecurity / malnutrition. From transportation of bulk materials, to the pickup of tools for community & school gardens, having a trailer is an essential resource for our organization! In 2017 our brand new trailer was stolen, and SAPD never was able to identify the perpetrator.
Since that point in time we have been renting trailers from our friends at Low Price Trailers on Rittiman and I-35. Luckily, they graciously gave us a 50% discount on all trailer rentals after the incident. Nonetheless, over time that can become expensive and redundant, especially if we need the trailer for weeks at a time. In the past year of 2020 we were blessed with a grant from San Antonio for Growth on the Eastside (SAGE) to enhance our storefront facade. That funding provided us 2 new gates, and a 4 camera security system!
In part because of all these trailer rentals and security purchases, we have been able to save 170,000 points on our American Express Lowe's Business Credit Card over a similar time period! Those points equate to $1,700 in gift cards to Lowes, the source of our desired trailer! Additionally, we get a 5% discount on all Lowes purchases, which drops the $5,000 trailer down to ~$4,700. We currently have a deficit of $3,000 until we can afford this trailer.
As 2020 ends we are asking our supporters to please contribute a small donation towards our goal. Whether you can give $5 or $100, every little bit will help us enter 2021 on a great note to continue growing a healthier community for years to come!
Peace and Blessings,
