The St. Louis beer scene has always been there for us. It’s time to be there for them.
Our Greater St. Louis breweries have always been at the front line of giving back to our community and strengthening our local economy. Think about it - who among us has attended a fundraising event hosted at one of our local breweries, or been to one featuring generously donated beer, or bought a case of beer where a portion of proceeds benefitted a local cause? Now is the time to pay that generosity forward.
CoVid-19 has caused major disruptions across every aspect of our lives and like everyone else, our brewing community has been significantly impacted. Brewery tasting rooms and restaurants have closed, which means employees’ hours have been drastically cut or have been furloughed all together. Currently we are aware of over 600 local brewery employees who are either out of work completely or have had their take-homes significantly reduced. We want to help, and this fundraiser has been established to support them directly.
The St. Louis beer scene was recently featured as USA Today’s “Best Beer Scene” in the country for the third year in a row for a very good reason. Brewing is in our City’s DNA and the incredible men and women who make up our local brewing industry not only carry on a centuries old tradition of excellence in their craft, but also elevate our local culture and strengthen our communities.
100% of all direct, tax-deductible donations made to STLBEER - The St. Louis Brewers Heritage Foundation throughout this campaign will ultimately be split evenly across all local brewery employees who have been furloughed or had pay significantly reduced as a result of CoVid-19 disruptions.
We are thrilled to announce that we have already raised over $30,000 through our "Community Transmission" livestream event campaign to seed this fund. But with well over 600 people to split this across, we have a lot of work to do in order to ensure these individual payouts are significant enough to be helpful.
We understand that everyone is hurting right now and that everyone is asking for help. If you are not in a position to make a financial donation, or simply cannot give as much as you wish you could, please know how much you are helping this campaign simply by sharing it out on social media and by helping get the word out.
Additionally, if you would like to support this campaign and get something fun in return for your giving, please head over to our Square shop where we have t-shirts, handkerchiefs, koozies, posters, and stickers all available for pre-order, with all profits being added to this campaign: https://stlbeer.square.site.
Every single dollar counts and we are so grateful for your generosity!
