Just about a year ago I adopted the sweetest angel in cat form.. yes me.. the dog-person who said they never wanted a pet in their apartment. Stevie, back then "Onyx", was found in Fulton, NY under a trailer with her 8 all black siblings. At the time I was looking for a male black kitten and had already met 2 other litters. July 3rd, 2020 I drove an hour and 30 minutes to meet a litter that I initially had my eye on one of the boys. When I arrived I sat in a room and was swarmed by a litter of black kittens. One in particular needed extra attention and climbed right on my lap not allowing any of the others near me. As the 4lb little creature that looked like a black rat tried eating the buttons off my shirt I said "I'll take this one" and that's how I ended up with my sweet Stevie. It's no secret Stevie lives a pretty lush life, but don't all strays deserve that?? For Stevie's 1 year anniversary of her Gotcha Day, since she isn't exactly hurting for toys, she instead would like to be gifted with donations to Mr. Grey's Strays in Brockport where her friend Freddie was recently adopted.
**Stevie would also like to remind her friends that black pets, cats and dogs, are less likely to be adopted for various ridiculous theories. Including that people think they are more aggressive *eye roll*..... and our personal favorite, that black pets aren't as photogenic as other pets. Stevie and I would beg to differ.
