This November, I will be running my second New York City Marathon and I will be dedicating my run to BARC Shelter. The Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition is a non-profit, no-kill, privately run animal shelter that has been able to provide care to animals since they opened their doors in 1987. For the last several years, Jessie and I have been able to donate our time to BARC through volunteer dog walking, so I’m excited to continue that support by fundraising for them. That’s where you come in!
I am setting a fundraising goal of $1000 to help support BARC in their mission of providing food, shelter, and medical attention for abandoned animals. Any amount that you are able to donate would be greatly appreciated by the dogs, cats, and humans of BARC. And me too!
Here are some suggested donation amounts and how that can benefit BARC:
$13.10 ($0.50 per mile) = 1 large bag of cat litter
$26.20 ($1 per mile) = 1 large bag of dog or cat food
$52.40 ($2 per mile) = 1 animal grooming
$131 ($5 per mile) = 1 medical examination
You can learn more about BARC and their animal rescue efforts by visiting www.barcshelter.org or by checking them out on Instagram @barcshelter.
Thank you for all of your support!
