Hi friends, welcome to my X-Out Stress Campaign! This month I am focusing on reducing stress through exercise, avoiding sugar and empty calories and practicing Mindfulness. Will you join me by x-ing out a bad habit and contributing to the Challenge Campaign? I was diagnosed with CMML , a blood cancer , two years ago and received a stem cell transplant February 16, 2019. I am now in remission!
But since my family members have also inherited the RUNX1 mutation, I am supporting the RUNX1 Research Program to prevent cancer. Please consider a donation! Thank you!
The Challenge Campaign is designed to promote healthy habits while raising both awareness and funds for programs and research towards finding a cure for the inherited blood cancer predisposition, RUNX1 Familial Platelet Disorder (RUNX1-FPD). I hope you'll support my health goal with a donation to my campaign. Even a small gift will help RRP get to their big campaign goal of $20,000. Thank you! To learn more about the RUNX1 Research Program, visit www.runx1-fpd.org.
The RUNX1 Research Program's main goal is cancer prevention. Individuals with RUNX1-FPD are 30x more likely to develop blood cancer than the general population. RRP invests in trying to understand why some patients never get sick while others do. Nearly all cancers have an environmental component, so the potential for prevention exists. It is well-established that moving more, eating healthier foods and living lower-stress lives contributes to better health outcomes. Positive habits of body and mind are tangible ways to help improve your health and stave off cancer.
