Sophie was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes January 28, 2016 at the age of 3. We were scared and didn't know much about Type 1 diabetes. The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi came to the hospital and were so supportive and loving to us. They have been by our side through this journey with our precious baby girl. She is a fighter, a surivor, and a strong 7 year old now. The battle is not over until a cure is found but she fights every day and she fights with a smile. It has taught us to live every day with faith, strength, empathy and love.
Sophie loves to teach her friends about Type 1 and show them how she gets her shots every day. She is a smart and loving child who fights 24/7 with diabetes but she never lets it get her down.
She is our hero and we love her so much. God has big plans for this beautiful baby girl who has a sparkle in her eye with hopes and dreams just like any other 7 year old little girl.
Please consider making a donation to help fight this fight with Sophie. Everyday miracles happen because of your caring, generosity and support!
So, bring your entire family, best friends, church, classmates and co-workers to help the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi make a difference in the lives of your fellow Mississippians who live with diabetes 24/7!
