As many of you know, on August 10, 2017, Bill Swords lost his battle with leukemia. He touched so many of us through his great sense of humor, his kindness, love for family, friends and the New York Yankees. He is greatly missed.
To honor his memory, on August 1st, members of Bill's family will be attending a Yankee game and have pledged to walk 5k by doing laps around the 100-concourse level inside Yankee Stadium.
All money raised will be donated to the Jay Fund Foundation, a charity started by Tom Coughlin in honor of Jay McGillis, a member of Coach Coughlin's team at Boston College, who also lost his battle with leukemia. Coach Coughlin later became head coach of Billy's favorite football team, the New York Giants.
The Jay Fund's mission is to help families tackle childhood cancer by providing financial, emotional and practical support for families affected by cancer.
Please consider supporting the Jay Fund Foundation, in memory of Bill Swords.
