Our misson continues, but with the COVID-19 pandemic, our funding has diminshed.
We ask supporters to #Step Up to Cure ALS with us and help get to the treatment and cure.
ALS is a motor neuron disease.
ALS attacks motor neurons that control voluntary muscles which leads to progressive weakness and disability. When these cells die, their voluntary muscle control and movement are lost. Patients with ALS eventually lose their strength, ability to move their arms, legs, and body, and lose the ability to breathe on their own - while their minds remain intact.
The average life expectancy for patiients with ALS is 2 to 5 years.
