In 2018, over 71% of jobs require STEM fields, yet women make up only 24% of the STEM workforce. STEMM Goes Red is the AHA’s program for high school girls to explore future science, technology, engineering, math, and media careers outside of the classroom. Through digital workbooks, virtual lunch and learns a series of events and mentorship, these promising students are exploring the field of STEMM in meaningful ways.
Throughout the program, young women are discovering how their voices can influence and impact community health and develop key career opportunities in research, engineering and media. The program has expanded to 100 girls for 2019, with room to grow in years to come.
