The COVID-19 lockdown in India has had a drastic and extreme effects on the Muslim community. Not because of the virus, but because of starvation.
Millions of people in India survive and earn their daily bread through daily income. The concept of survival in India is derived from the necessity of the income earner going out each and every day to earn money so that their families can eat. The lockdown has had the effect of completely shutting down millions of people‘s ability to earn money resulting in absolutely no ability to purchase food and other necessities of life.
The situation is dire in all states throughout India. The government has provided no relief to assist the millions of people who are in urgent need. The backlash that the Muslim communities are facing, has made an unbearable situation even worse.
There are non-government organizations and charities that are assisting with what they can by providing food and other necessities of life to these people who are in desperate need.
In these desperate times, and in the blessed month of Ramadan, we ask for everyone to give and to give generously so that we may do our part in raising funds to assist these charities in India to help save lives.
There are millions of people starving. Please donate, and donate generously.
