StarStruck Theatre is the Treasure Coast’s only non-profit Children’s Theatre and home of the award-winning StarStruck Performing Arts Academy and professional theatre. StarStruck has served over 200 children annually, ages 3 – 18, from Martin, Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties for over 18 years and has garnered a national reputation for stellar performing arts training and the standard of excellence by which it operates.
In addition to producing award-winning family entertainment, StarStruck provides over $50,000 annually in scholarships, and has provided performing art programs to Martin County Head Start, the Early Learning Coalitions of Martin, St. Lucie, Okeechobee and Indian River Counties, Hope Rural School and Bridges Montessori, just to name a few; and donated thousands of performances, volunteer hours and tickets to countless area causes seeking partnerships with liked-minded non-profits whenever possible. StarStruck is so much more than an Performing Arts Academy and a theater that produces top quality plays and musicals. StarStruck is a place of freedom. StarStruck is a unique space where high expectations, a strong work ethic and passion gel. For many it’s a surrogate family for children that are ousted by the mainstream. For most, it is their second home. StarStruck is family. It is StarStruck’s resolve to help all children find their self-worth, their voice, their confidence and provide a place where they are loved just as they are. At StarStruck, civic responsibility, tolerance, and high standards are regularly emphasized, as these students prepare to become our future leaders.
StarStruck alumni include Broadway Jersey Boys’ star, Cory Jeacoma, Broadway actress Alicia Tomasko, and star of Finding Neverland and The Sound of Music National Tours, Ben Krieger…just to name a few! StarStruck also proudly boasts alumni working as successful doctors, realtors, lawyers and educators, thanks in part to the values and work ethic instilled by our instructors and staff. StarStruck’s reach goes beyond the Treasure Coast attracting Broadway royalty such as Stephen Schwartz, the famed composer of Godspell, Children of Eden, Pippin and Wicked. Mr Schwartz selected StarStruck, not once but 2 times, to workshop children’s versions of his Broadway blockbusters, with the help of StarStruck gifted founders, Peter and Jennifer Jones. Other notable StarStruck Fans include actress and recording star Vanessa Williams, stage director John Caird, Broadway actors Anna McNeely, Laura Bell Bundy and Paul Canaan, and Music Theatre International CEO, Freddie Gershon.
Standing Ovations: “StarStruck is to be applauded. StarStruck is to be congratulated. What they are doing is valid from an educator’s point of view, from a humanity point of view and from what you know in your gut is the difference between right and wrong. StarStruck students are subliminally learning how to be better quality Americans. How to be good citizens. How to be good parents. Learning solid values and character building. The risks they take are the risks of going up on the stage and failing. Those risks are the essence of the history of America itself.” - Freddie Gershon, CEO Music Theatre International, New York
“StarStruck Theatre is Florida’s crown jewel of musical theatre education. Here, young artists are prepared for ‘The Great White Way’ . . . prepared for LIFE!” - - Vanessa Williams, Broadway & Film Star, Recording Artist
