Help us support our church community during this time of need.
Since March 15, worship services as well as all classes, programs, and activities have been cancelled at St. Peter Armenian Church in Watervliet. Our mid-sized parish, not only provides a spiritual home to over 400 Armenian families, it showcases the rich heritage and culture of the Armenian people with a wide variety of programs, activities, and cultural events for the whole community.
Due to the mandated restrictions taking place during these challenging times, it also has become necessary to cancel our plans for our annual Armenian Festival, previously scheduled for June 6 & 7. This event has taken place for over 100 years and has welcomed the public from near and far to experience Armenia in Upstate New York and served as the largest fundraiser of the year for the church.
Monies raised will primarily go toward the general operating expenses of the church and keeping the small staff working to bring as many of our services, programs, ad rich Armenian Christian faith to our community through new and innovated ways with the help of modern technology. As with so many, we are all adjusting to a new "normal" until gatherings can once again take place in our beloved St. Peter Armenian Apostolic Church, the "Family Church on the Hill."
