Hello, Citizens of the World!
I'm Sonia Rodriguez, a representative of St. Mary's Church of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Starting from humble beginnings, we've come to welcome tens of thousands of families over the years. Our current parish has over 1,000 families from all walks of life, however, we primarily service the Latino community. We're currently one of the only churches in the area dedicated to serving the Bridgeport Latino Community. Most of our families are now reeling from unemployment, and they're now unable to support themselves or the church.
I'm writing to you today to ask for your help. Not only to allow the church to continue paying our employees but so we can better support our parishioners. During a normal crisis, the church would invest heavily into helping our family. But due to the unique nature of the COVID-19 crisis, we're not even able to support ourselves. While our overarching goal is to keep the church and our employees afloat during the crisis, our hope is to be able to support our church family as well.
We understand that everyone is experiencing major financial hardships at this time. But, if you can look into your hearts, please donate whatever you can.
Thank you so much for your time reading this message. God Bless you, your loved ones, and stay healthy!
