In the Dominican tradition, commitment to education is foremost and St. Gertrude School provides a learning environment most conducive to students flourishing academically, spiritually, emotionally and physically. We are currently preparing to reopen school for in-person learning on August 20, 2020. As our country continues to learn from the most recent weeks of the pandemic, we are making decisions about returning to school. Our intention is for students to attend school with the least amount of disruption to their normal school routine.
As we know from the past several months, our lives are changing on a daily basis. This is the reality of our current pandemic world. However, in this new reality, prudence dictates that we must be prepared. In order to ensure that St. Gertrude School can continue to educate during these uncertain times, we are raising funds so that our teachers can continue to instruct and our students can continue to learn with the most effective means possible. There are many hidden costs involved in the safe re-opening of St. Gertrude School that our school cannot continue to absorb with its current budget, including measures for social distancing, proper hygiene, and possible distance learning during “flare ups”. Therefore, we are raising funds to provide additional instructional staff, teacher training, technology updates, increased levels of sanitization and personal protective equipment as needed.
The stellar educational performance that our school displayed this past spring can continue with your assistance. Please help us cover these increased costs so that St. Gertrude School can continue to be a beacon of learning! In uncertain times, there is an opportunity for greatness, an opportunity to shine, and opportunity to rise above. Now is that time.
Please prayerfully consider your gift.
