The coronavirus pandemic has affected us all, whether it be from our brave healthcare professionals or those doing their best to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by self-quarantining, we have all experienced the hardship both emotionally and financially. Unfortunately, our team is subsequently having to deal with an increased intake of dogs that cannot be cared for anymore by their owners because of factors outside of their control. With many of the intakes we have had, many have health issues with an average cost of $500 to $700, which is typical. However, the main issue arises with the unusual amount of dogs we are having to care for during this time. During 2019, we had 228 intakes, but during 2020, we have already exceeded 143 intakes through April 30th. On top of this, we have a waiting list for owner-surrenders needing foster homes. If you're reading this and able to foster, please contact us, we are a nationwide Great Dane rescue. Additionally, we are helping many owners financially to keep their pets by providing dog food, vet care, and anything else of need. One decade and 1,700 Danes later, we are still continuing our mission and vision to save one until there are none. We would love if you would start your own fundraising campaign for SRGDRR or any other COVID-19 related charities that are close to your heart. Thank you so much for any donations you're able to give during this trying time, please share this to spread the word! Help save a Dane today, let's stand together!
