Squamish offers world-class granite bouldering within a magical forest. As the use of this area increases by both climbers and nature enthusiasts, so does our impact on the ecological areas.
To help control the movement of traffic and minimize off-trail trampling, we are working with the Squamish Access Society (SAS), to build cedar fences along the main path connecting the Grand Wall Trail to the Titanic Trail (completed in two phases).
With SAS responsible for many local projects and costs, we'd like help gather funds to cover this project. We encourage anyone who uses these areas, or simply wants to help ensure the protection of these natural areas and participate in supporting good relationships between climbers and BC Parks, to consider supporting this cause. Additionally, for the month of February, Flashed will commit to dollar match the first $3,000 of donations. All funds will be collected by Climber's Access Society of BC (CASBC).
Note: For a charitable tax receipt, donations are also accepted directly on the CASBC website. Please include "Fence" in the comments area to direct to this fundraiser.
