“As much as anything, the world today needs to support young people to grow into visionary artisans of cultural change, the new leaders who will guide humanity through the transformation that the greater Earth community wholly depends upon.” — Bill Plotkin, author, visionary wilderness guide, eco-psychologist of the Animas Valley Institute (animas.org)
Spirit Hollow has been offering camps for almost sixteen years. The camps grew out of a recognition that our culture is pathologically disconnected from the natural world and sorely lacks rites of passage experiences for our youth to mature in a healthy way. By gathering in a ‘tribe’ in nature, kids are able to open up, connect with the wisdom of the land, their elders and their peers.
Our camps address the urgent need for our kids to get time immersed in nature to connect with their deepest longings, to look at what’s true emerging in them on a soul and heart level, to share in community, to be heard and to deeply listen.
"My daughter is an anxious kid. Awesome - and anxious. She had an amazing camp experience at Spirit Quest teen camp. It can be a challenge to find a group of exceptional children - Tracey and Staff gave them a place to be. Be who they are. Be extraordinary. Be silly and deep and open ... the gift to me is having someplace I knew my child would love. And she did. See you next year." ~ Nita Marie
PS: my daughter asked me to give you 6 stars out of 5!
As the co-originator of these camps, I passionately feel that these youth programs are the MOST important offerings at Spirit Hollow. Given the many anxiety-provoking and pressings issues of these times, we feel a moral obligation to offer as many tools to our children as we can to help them navigate the unchartered waters of these challenging times.
At Spirit Hollow, we create a safe container for kids and teens to hear the voice of Soul, to unplug from the world, to take a break from the demands of their lives, to rejuvenate in nature and to be lovingly guided by soulful adults.
As we gear up for summer, I reach out to you, Dear Ones, to request your financial help in assisting us in providing scholarships for children and teens to come to one of our transformational camps in the summer of 2019.
Last summer, because of your generous donations, we were able to assist over 15 families with partial and full tuition scholarships. As a small non-profit, we are in the position to request tax-deductible contributions to support our work of Love. Any amount is so appreciated and we are hoping to double the number of families who can be helped!!
You can designate which camp you'd like your funds to go to (for example, if you're a woman, you may wish to support a Goddess Camper, etc).
May all you share come back to you tenfold as a shower of blessings.
With deepest gratitude
Tracey Forest, Co-Founding Director of Spirit Hollow
