On April 6, 2019 from 9am-4pm, we will be hosting the 5th Spin Your Wheels fundraiser at The Aspinwall Riverfront Park, located at 285 River Ave., Aspinwall, PA 15215. We will once again be joined by Tribe412Fitness studio. We had such a great time last year at this venue so we are once again taking the fitness party outdoors where riders can choose anywhere from 1-4 hours of spin classes and/or participate in 8 different group fitness classes. There will be our famous, gigantic basket auction, complimentaty refreshments, food, a DJ and more!
There is something for everyone: non-cyclists can choose from any of our 45 minute classes such as Kick It, HIIT Bootcamp, Zumba, Yoga and more! There will be a fun bootcamp for the younger exercisers and the park will be open for them to play. People with all athletic ability are welcome and encouraged to participate. We are thrilled to announce BACK FOR 2019: Mindful Movement, a free yoga/wellness class designed specifically for individuals with extra needs led by Open Up PGH.
We organized this fundraiser because disabilities affect all of us. Jennifer’s 16 year old son (Katherine’s godson), Luke has autism as well as cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Katherine is an elementary school special education teacher and works with children with various intellectual and physical disabilities every day. Andrea has close friends who have children with disabilities and has been an integral part of the behind the scenes organization of the first four Spin Your Wheels fundraisers. Rory owns Tribe412Fitness and is providing the necessary equipment for the event. She has a long history of volunteer work and encourages her two daughters to actively volunteer within the special needs community as well.
Our beneficiary is Riding for the Handicapped of Western PA (RHWPA). RHWPA is a 501-C3 non-profit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding for children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities in the Pittsburgh area. Approximately 75% of their riders are children living with autism but children with all disabilities are welcome. It is believed the rhythmical gait of a horse acts to move the rider's pelvis in the same rotation and side-to-side movement that occurs when walking. The horse's adjustable gait promotes riders to constantly adjust to encourage pelvic motion while improving strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, posture, and mobility. You can learn more by visiting www.RHWPA.org.
We sincerely hope that you will be a part of our fundraiser. If you are not able to join us on APRIL 6, 2019, please consider contributing in another way by volunteering, providing a gift basket for our auction, becoming a sponsor ($150), donating a gift card or an item from your store for a prize or a monetary donation. Checks should be made out to “RHWPA” and mailed to Jennifer Evashavik at the above address.
Our TAX ID# is 75-35152-1
