Nikita and Vanya are twin brothers who were born in 2013 in Ukraine. They were born prematurely and were both diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. When their mother was pregnant with them, she lost her own mother. Shortly after their birth, their father died suddenly.
So their mother has been raising them on all on her own. The boys are growing taller, heavier and have outgrown their current stroller. They are in need of larger, special strollers so their mother can transport them around safely. This is a huge expense for a single mother.
We need to raise US$2700 to cover the cost of two special strollers. Please help us reach our goal!
In Ukraine, parents of children with special needs are encouraged to hand their children over to state care. They are told their children are a burden on society. Children are sent to institutions where they are subjected to abuse and neglect. There is minimal support available to parents who fight to keep their children with them. Maya's Hope wants to help relieve some of the burden on these amazing parents and assist in keeping children with their families, where they belong.
