Special Olympics
Hey everyone! This year Sam and I will be completing the Rhode Island Rhode Masters Series. This will include 3 full and 2 half marathons starting in April and concluding in October. Not going to lie, this is going to be tough. I feel that using this opportunity to raise money for a great organization will help to motivate me through the grueling training and all of the miles ahead.
I first started fundraising the volunteering for Special Olympics in college as a member of Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity. I still remember helping to run the scoreboard for athletes playing basketball. Seeing how much fun they were having made such a difference in my life. Through the rest my college experience I spent time working fundraisers and participating in events such as the Polar Plunge. That said, it was obvious to me that I wanted to raise funds for Special Olympics once more.
I am asking for your help to not only motivate me in my training but to also donate to a terrific cause.
Since I am doing 3 full marathons and 2 half marathons, I see it fitting to suggest the following for suggested donations.
$13.10 (13.1 being the distance of a half marathon)
$26.20 (26.2 being the distance of a full marathon)
$104.80 (104.8 being the amount of raced miles I will have completed at the end of this race series)
Thank you for visiting my page, wish me luck, and thank you for donating!
