Your Support is Needed Now More Than Ever
For every family with a child who has an intellectual disability, Special Olympics New York provides hope. Our year-round program of sports training and competition gives athletes the chance to test their courage, show their determination, and build their self-esteem. But for every athlete taking part in our programs, there are at least 10 like them in New York that we have not yet reached. They’re waiting…hoping for their chance.
Special Olympics New York is looking for 60 Young Athletes Champions to donate in the next three weeks. If we are successful, we will eligible for a $100,000 grant that will bring our life-changing programs to thousands of new athletes, ages 2 to 7.
In becoming a Young Athletes Champion, you will bring children with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience joy and friendship with their families, their peers, and the community – all at no cost to them.
It takes courage to believe in yourself – to master a skill, push limits, and put yourself out into the world. Special Olympics New York teaches its athletes to be brave, to empower the champion within.
Will you be our champion?
