Greetings from team S.H.I.E.L.D (Super Humans Investigating Evidence to Lessen Disease)!
We are a group of Superheroes that have united to support the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AzAAP) and pediatric professionals in the battle against the forces that threaten child health and well-being. You have the power to team up with Arizona’s leading pediatricians to Speak Up for Kids!
Our superhero team includes:
Dr. Sean Elliott
Dr. Rick Engel
Dr. Jodi Carter
Dr. PB Hemmady
Our team has chosen to focus our fundraising efforts on Infectious Disease. Due to the disruption of delivery and administration of immunizations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important now than ever to focus on ensuring every eligible child receives life-saving vaccines such as measles and influenza. AzAAP has always been committed to supporting pediatric providers in raising levels of immunization in our state through advocacy, continuing education and quality improvement projects. By creating the Arizona COVID-19 Training Center, AzAAP is working to respond to the urgent public health crisis and to support members as they navigate the pandemic and provide care to patients and families by providing timely information and resources. The Training Center is home to a broad range of COVID-19 related resources including webinars, podcasts and toolkits. A specific campaign within the training center is working to address parental fears and combat all the side effects of parents cancelling well-checks and vaccination appointments to avoid coronavirus exposure. The campaign is assisting pediatric providers in informing their patients and families that pediatric practices are open, safe and the best place to receive guidance on the health of their children. With the evolving pandemic, there’s a need to continually add new information and resources to the training center to help pediatric providers address concerns and safely provide care to patients.
We are asking all of our allies and sidekicks from now through October 31st to join this critical assignment by donating to fight for the children of Arizona. Show that child health and well-being is a PRIORITY ONE mission. With your help not even kryptonite can stop us!
