Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow!
There are soooooo many cats on Bimini! And we love these furry felines, but even too much of a good thing is, well, not good.
As a local volunteer, I'm eager to help Island Paws Rescue get the traps* necessary to catch as many of these clever critters as possible. Then, each cat will get spayed or neutered, vaccinated and released back into the Bimini wilderness. All funds raised here will support these expenses (see below). If this campaign does really well, and we don't need all the funds right this moment, don't you worry. Island Paws Rescue has been funding spay/neuter clinics and stray dog & cat adoptions on Bimini for years. The funds will be used for Bimini efforts, whenever those may be.
Rough cost breakdown:
Trap: $60 each
Surgery: $50 each cat
Tests & Vaccinations: $50 each cat (this varies a bit, based on how many cats come in and what vaccines IPR already has in stock)
*Don't worry - the traps don't hurt the cats. The cats go in for some tasty food, the door closes behind them and when volunteers check the traps, those with kitties are brought to the clinic site.
