The best way to help the animal overpopulation problem is to prevent it - that’s where PawsCo’s spay/neuter efforts come in.
PawsCo works to get to the root of the problem by bringing subsidized spay/neuter services to rural communities in Colorado that don’t have access to vet care or affordable veterinary services. Raising $6,000 will fund a PawsCo spay/neuter clinic in a Colorado community.
PawsCo brings a mobile unit, volunteers, a certified veterinary technician and a veterinarian for each clinic and partners with volunteers in the community and residents to spay or neuter 100-200 dogs or cats each weekend (3-day clinic). Pet owners in the community pay a copay of $10-20 to cover surgery and vaccines for their animal, so clinics are largely subsidized.
By preventing new litters, spay/neuter decreases the number of animals in the shelter system. The PawsCo model also focuses on education and collaboration with the community to encourage lasting change.

$6,000 = Funds a 3-day spay/neuter clinic
$12,000 = Funds the PawsCo mobile unit for one year
