My name is Molly Crane and I am a Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy Department at South Shore Hospital. I am so excited to announce that I will be running the 2020 Boston Marathon to raise money for the Grayken Center for Treatment! The Grayken Center for Treatment is a collection of substance use disorder and behavioral health initiatives to help support our community. It is my hope that by raising money for the this important cause, I will bring more awareness of the life-saving initiatives that are now available to anyone in our community that is seeking help and support.
My ties to the Boston Marathon go back to 2011 when I completed my first marathon, and in 2013 when I cared for many runners and spectators injured during the Boston Marathon bombings. Running has become an integral part of my everyday life and has helped maintain my overall health and mental well-being. As a health care provider, I stand at the forefront to end the stigma surrounding addiction and behavioral health. It is my belief that we need to start having open and compassionate conversations without any judgement.
I love working at South Shore Hospital and I am so grateful to care for the patients here in our community. It is an honor to be running for The South Shore Health Foundation and The Grayken Center for Treatment. Thank you for supporting me towards my journey to complete my fourth marathon! See you on Boylston Street!
