The Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital provides world-leading cancer care programs to our South Shore Communities. This unique collaboration among three organizations makes it possible to offer many advanced cancer treatments, including groundbreaking trials without going to Boston.
Many of our friends and family living in our region have been touched by cancer. The Breast Cancer Center and Multi-specialty Clinics follow over 11,000 patients and annually over 22,000 patients are diagnosed and treated.
My family has been personally touched by Dana Farber and the team at South Shore Hospital. On July 7, 2017 my father was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. In that moment, we were so fortunate for his care to be in the hands of Dana Farber at South Shore Hospital. They've transformed an overwhelming situation into something that became manageable; delivering tailored and effective treatment as well as medical, social, and emotional support close to home.
My father's response has been nothing short of heroic. His positive attitude cannot be overstated. His ability to tackle whatever comes his way with strength and grace has been incredibly inspirational. We are so thankful for the care that he is receiving and the advances that Dana Farber continues to make and the relentless pursuit to a world without cancer.
On April 20th, I will take to the streets to participate in the 124th marathon. I am so thrilled for this nod to my father's tireless journey, inspired by his positive mindset and ability to enjoy every day.
Thank you for your support. Together we are headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer
