I am honored and humbled to once again run for South Shore Health Foundation. This will be my fourth year running with this team, and my seventh overall Boston Marathon.
As many of you know my father is a lung cancer survivor and was treated at South Shore Hospital. I am forever grateful for the love, care, and support they gave and continue to give to him. Cancer is a horrendous disease that unfortunately has hit too close to home. In addition to my dad, my grandmother was and mother is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Many friends and other family members have battled and are currently battling some type of cancer. I'm running to raise money for cancer care services on the South Shore. Each year, more than 1,000 new patients seek care at the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center in clinical affiliation with South Shore Hospital. Funds that I raise will support these patients.
Thank you once again for helping me reach my goal! Being given this opportunity once again to raise money for South Shore Health Foundation means more to me that I can put into words!
