REDC Foundation selected the Ilulla Farm in Eldoret, Kenya and its owner Esther Koimett to recieve a Solar Food Preservation Facility at no charge. Ms. Koimett will now be able to preserve all food without needing access to electricity. Esther's business will experience an increased production of nutritious food and profitability per Hectare.
The Solar Food Preservation Facility comes housed in a 45 Ft. shipping container. Inside is a walk-in cooler and a Glass Jar Canning Station. As soon as crops are ripe they enter cold storage. Before the food can s;poil in cold storage it is preserved in glass jars long-term in the Glass Jar Canning Station.
Farmers can now preserve nutritious food and store that food for sale or consumption later without needing access to electricity. New product lines increase annual revenues. New sustainable farming practices make sure that the farmer always provides high quality and quantities of nutritious food every harvest period.
Pregnant and nursing mothers in the community now have access to fresh, low-cost nutritious food year-round.
Thank you for your donations. They help REDC Foundation purchase and ship the Solar Food Preservation Facility to Esther Koimett & the Ilulla Farm in Eldoret, Kenya.
