The Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen,Inc. owns and operates the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow, Vermont. The School is the oldest residential arts and crafts school in Vermont, established in 1947. We provide a wide variety of arts and crafts classes taught by experienced instructors. We have a robust Youth Program and offer scholarships for local youth to attend workshops in the summer. After the Recession of 2008 and Huricane Irene, we experienced a dramatic decline in attendance at the school. Revitalizing the school continues to be a challenge. With the support of our members, donors, and numerous dedicated volunteers, we have managed to keep our doors open, but additional funding is needed for operating expenses and projects that are vital to operations going forward such as: new computers to replace our outdated systems, extending wi-fi throughout the campus, upgrades to our residential facilities and classrooms, and Youth Scholarships.
