The Society of Vermont Artists and Craftsmen,Inc. owns and operates the Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts in Ludlow, Vermont. The School is the oldest residential arts and crafts school in Vermont, established in 1947. We provide a wide variety of arts and crafts classes taught by experienced instructors. We have a robust Youth Program and offer scholarships for local youth to attend workshops in the summer. The School is a vital part of the local area and a haven for artists and craftspeople.
Although we were open this summer, the COVID-19 pandemic decimated our ambitious plans. We were fortunate to receive a Cultural Relief Grant from the Vermont Arts Council that will keep us afloat until October of 2020.
With the loss of about 80% of our revenue stream, we are now making plans to sustain the organization until June of 2021 when, hopefully, it will be safe to open. We will not be able to do it without the support of our community of artists, crafters, members, donors, and volunteers. It is vital if we are to weather these unprecedented times.
We realize that we are only one of many businesses, individuals, and oprganizations that are struggling right now. For those of you who are able, please consider making a contribution today.
