Connecting Champions is mentoring nonprofit for kids with cancer, centered around the question, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"
March to Friendship is the anual fundraiser centered around March Madness, where teams raise money to sponsor every kid in Connecting Champions during the month of March by donating their bracket pools, or raising money in a variety of ways.
Every $250 a team pools together sponsors a friendship for a newly diagnosed child. At the end of the year, each team gets a personalized scrapbook sharing the friendships they made possible!
So far, they've paired kids with 38 different professions -- everything from ballerinas and train conductors to chefs and ghost hunters!
Their research-based, outcomes-driven approach helps bridge the developmental gap between kids with cancer and their peers. Thanks to their historic partnership with UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, they have become a part of the hospital care team and their referral rate has skyrocketed to 90%.
Together, we can make sure every newly diagnosed kid in Pittsburgh is sponsored in the March to Friendship!
