SMHC's Center for Breast Care
One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. Many of us know at least one woman, probably many, who have been touched or even devastated by this frightening disease. Southern Maine Health Care’s (SMHC) Center for Breast Care enables friends and neighbors in York County, Maine, to get their breast cancer care right in their backyard, close to their homes, families and friends. Sponsorships, donations and pledges raised through the Shipyard Maine Coast Half & Full Marathon will help provide extra programs and services for cancer patients and their families at every step of their journey as they make critical care decisions. Your gift would help SMHC caregivers continue to provide wigs, prostheses, educational materials to newly diagnosed women, books to help children cope with the diagnosis of a parent or loved one, support group facilitation, and gas station gift cards for patients unable to afford travel—all free of charge to our patients. These services make a true impact on those in our community facing a breast cancer diagnosis. We thank you for your kind consideration to make a difference in these women’s lives.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We hope you will join us in the effort to raise essential resources for women in our community!
