Hi my name is Max Maltby. I am here on behalf of the Sister Bay & Liberty Grove Firefighters Association. I am running in the Door County Half Marathon on May 5th to raise money for the tools on our new brush truck. This truck is currently being built for our Fire Department and I want to put some nice tools on it to make sure we can get any job done!
My goal is to raise at least $1500 dollars so that we can buy all of the necessary hand tools for this truck. A few of those tools are rakes, shovels, Pulaski axes, swatters, and chainsaws. This truck is going to be top of the line and I hope to fit it with some of the most top of the line tools so we can put out any and every fire we are assigned to. The big benefit of this truck is that it allows Firefighters to sit in the cab while fighting the fire which is much safer! It also meets the current N.F.P.A. standards. This truck is way more maneuverable than are old truck and has more ground clearance thanks to the lift kit we are putting on it. This truck can hold 400 gallons of water on the back which is almost double our old truck. For my race i have been training quite a bit at the Sister Bay Fire Station so that i wont pass out on my 13 mile race.
