Depression and bipolar illness is runs through my family and I have two very good friends who also have sons with bipolar Illiness. I have seen the fear of these two Moms for their children, in their eyes Their need to help their sons but frozen in this fear by their inability to do so.
I have seen this pandemic bring out fear, anxiety and depression in many people including myself. I made a leap of faith and decided to get a dog. I thought I was going to get a pet from the local shelter but most all the dogs have been already adopted. I set my heart on getting a dog from my childhood. An old English sheepdog. I looked in the American kennel club register for a breeder. I was still having a hard time finding a dog. I believe My mother who passed away 4 years ago pointed me to a breeder in Georgia. I found a dog that was actually born on my birthday. He was located just outside of Savanha. I flew down, during a pandemic, to get a fluffy 8 week old puppy and bring him back to Chicago. My good friend Amy suggested that maybe Oliver could raise a little money for this wonderful cause. So here is a picture of Oliver.
