The Singing Surgeons organization was started by Greg Gallivan, Jr. in honor of his father, Gregory J. Gallivan, M.D. Dr. Gallivan was a dedicated Thoracic Surgeon and accomplished operatic baritone. He travelled the world sharing his gifts in both specialties throughout his lifetime while always emphasizing the importance of team, time and of being active in giving to the community. Dr. G was a lifelong baseball fan. The Singing Surgeon organization is comprised of teams in Massachusetts, Connecticut and a traveling team. The first game in organization history was played at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York. The Singing Surgeon organization emphasizes community service by supporting medical research, participating in fundraising for charitable causes and volunteering.
