Let us introduce ourselves and tell you what we are doing. My name is Simon, Im a 27 year old German who lives in Lisbon and is currently in between graduation and starting his first job. Therefore I have time for a little trip from Faro to Gibraltar between 2nd and 11th of March to watch the final of the Snooker Gibraltar Open. John, whose full name is Lightning John, due to his red color and speed, is my bike and travel companion.
During a stay in Mozambique I started working with "Mozambikes", a local social enterprise that focuses on empowering individuals, achieving social impact, and stimulating growth in communities. Bicycles are a highly efficient form of transport that incurs powerful impacts on the economy and environment of Mozambique. Bicycles are not just transport – they provide access to healthcare, clean water, schools and jobs. They also provide independence, exercise and reduced vulnerability to increasing costs of fuels. To achieve these goals, we need donations to buy more bikes and give them to people in the rural areas of Mozambique.
During our trip, John and I try to raise as much attention for Mozambikes as possible by cooperating with local media and running a social media campaign covering our adventures. So follow us on Facebook and Instagram and support our mission by donating, sharing, liking and Change Lives, One Bicycle At A Time with us!
