Handsome Simba is one of the amazing dogs that we have saved from the New York City shelter system. His confidence took a big hit when he was dumped at the shelter and we need help to send him to a board and train facility so he can learn how to once again be a great family dog.
Simba was originally purchased from a breeder at 6 weeks of age and grew up alongside his owners daughter. He allowed his 2 legged sister to tug his tail and even gave her pony rides.
Then his family decided to move without him and after 2.5 years of being a loving family pet he found himself in a crowded shelter. He was surrounded by barking, frantic dogs and the smell of sickness and death in the air.
Luckily for Simba at the 11th hour a loving foster mom stepped up to save his life.
Unfortunately the 6 weeks that Simba spent in the shelter did a number on him mentally and emotionally. A once happy go lucky boy is now riddled with separation anxiety, a fear of men, and a dislike of other dogs.
We know the dog that Simba once was. His owner surrender form and evaluation from the shelter all show him to be a happy guy who loves all people and enjoys rough and tumble play with other dogs.
We have tried in home training, medication, and the experts agree that he needs more.
Embark Dog Training offers a 3-5 week board and train program that we believe is just the thing to get Simba back on track. With a minimum price tag of $2700 we need help to make this dream for Simba come true.
With your help we can get Simba rehabilitated and into a forever home.
