The skatepark at Silverado Park, on the west side of Long Beach, CA, has a plan in place to redesign  and rebuild this much used and loved skatepark.

Many of the exisiting elements are past their lifespan and need replacing.  A collaborative design between Spohn Ranch Skateparks, Cory Keen of Keen Ramps, and pro skateboarder, David Reyes, for a new, all-concrete park is ready to be built, now we just need the funding to complete the build.

Since the funding will need to come from private sources (will not be funded by the city of Long Beach), the project and fundraiser is being spearheaded by Action Sports Kids Foundation, Inc, a Long Beach-based non-profit, whose founder and executive director, Mike Donelon, is responsible starting  the skatepark program in Long Beach back in the late 90's.

This skatepark is long overdue for a refresh. There are many young skaters that use this skatepark in this area and a brand new, all-concrete park would be a wonderful ammenity for a well-deserving community.
