Hello Sigma Delta Alumni,
In 2020 during the middle of a global pandemic, the Alumni Association Board of Directors undertook a major house renovation project. This involved everything from refinancing our mortgage to working with architects, the city permit department, and contractors over the course of a 7-month construction project - no easy feat in the middle of a pandemic!
With the work behind us, we're now raising money for a long-term house maintenance fund to keep the property in good shape and to ensure the continued long-term success of the Sigma Delta chapter.
Please consider contributing any amount you're comfortable with to give back to the fraternity that gave us so much (friendships, leadership experience, great memories, and much more) during our formative college years.
House Renovation Project Details:
New Sloped Roof - this was the biggest part of the scope, but also huge in the sense that it finally gets us away from the flat roof that plagued us with leaks and the need to replace the roof every 10 or so years. We feel confident that this new roof design with 40-year shingles will last for years and years to come. With this new roof there was also a need to reconfigure the HVAC/Ventilation to meet city code, so that contributed to the high cost.
Subfloor/Flooring in Main Room - due to the water damage over the years, the entire subfloor and flooring was replaced in the main room and several rooms in the flat roof area of the house. The new flooring material looks great and has greatly upgraded the interior experience!
Additional Interior/Exterior Work - since we were already in full construction mode, we used this opportunity to replace the hallway/kitchen flooring with the same higher grade material used in the main room. Several bedrooms were also updated.
Painting - both interior and exterior painting to give the house a fresh look.
We're now 52 years strong - here's to the next 52!
