Sexual assault in recent years has grown to be one of societies biggest issues. Unfortunately, a large number of sexual assaults involve fraternities nationwide. This issue is something that Sigma Phi Epsilon is proactively working to eliminate. At Sigma Phi Epsilon – Iowa Theta, we strive to raise awareness about sexual assault and do everything to promote being an active bystander. We accomplish this by hosting a week-long philanthropy called S.A.A.W. raising awareness about sexual assault at Northern Iowa and raising money for Cedar Valley Friends of the Family. This organization creates a safe environment for victims of sexual assault as well as domestic abuse and the homeless. This year I will be embarking on a new adventure to raise money for Cedar Valley Friends of the Families by running 100 miles in one week in April. For more information on S.A.A.W and our mission feel free to visit or site at http://unisigep.com/sexual-assault-awareness-week/. Please donate to help this amazing organization and thank you for your support!
