When I graduated from Goshen College in April, I knew I was ending a chapter and beginning a
new journey. While it was difficult leaving the familiar, I decided to join the PULSE program in Pittsburgh, PA.
PULSE cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh. They
invite recent college graduates (like myself) to partner with local nonprofits for a year
of service and leadership. The PULSE program will give me a chance to create a professional
network and gain work experience while serving with a local non-profit, while also
encouraging fellows to invest in the community.
I am greatly looking forward to the chance to connect with the residents of my neighborhood, as well as the populations served by my non-profit. One of the few things I know for sure as I begin my career is that I want to work for a company that is intertwined with its community, and PULSE will help me find such opportunities. Additionally, I am very excited (and a tad nervous) to live in a home
with other fellows, all of whom share similar goals.
Part of my first task as a PULSE participant is to assemble a team of people who will support
me in this work. I realize that I can’t do this work alone, that I need others to come alongside
me and partner with me.
Would you please consider supporting me in this work? I am in the process of raising
funds to cover expenses for this year of service and leadership. Your support will help impact
the lives of Pittsburgh’s most vulnerable.
Thank you for your continued investment in my life and in the life of PULSE!
