With restaurants and grocery stores not having the typical excess to give to foodbanks, we wanted to pull together a way to help the various foodbanks throughout Western Washington.
Food Lifeline is the local chapter of Feeding America and has seen dramatic decreases in donations and an increase in demand for healthy foods. Given the current situation, they've pivoted how they source food, focusing on truckload volumes of essential groceries and hardy produce items:
For every $30 contribution, Food Lifeline can provide healthy, pre-packaged food boxes to feed a four-person family for four days.
For every $100 contribution, Food Lifeline can source more than 1,000 pounds of nutritious produce or the equivalent of 50 boxes of 20 pounds of fresh produce to one of our 300 partner food banks, meal programs or shelters.
No pressure to donate and stay healthy!
