Hi All - Thank you so much for your donations and other contributions associated with the 2019 Shirley's OBX Walk. We exceeded our campaign fundraising goal of $1,000 by raising $1,310. We will continue this ALS charity walk again this year and have created a new campaign for 2020. We would certainly welcome additional participants and contributions to this years ALS walk. They will begin their journey in Avon, and ending their hike at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton, NC. All funds raised will be donated to the ALS Association of NC. Shirley Marshall passed away 17 years ago of ALS at the age of 63. Shirley was a devote Christian, and mother of five children. Shirley had a passion for poetry, reading books, and was a competitive bridge player. The Marshall family has been closely involved with the local ALS chapter, participating in the walks and raising money for research for almost 20 years to hopefully one day find a cure for this disease.
