Shiloh Middle School teacher Mike Chrvala assigned Rubie firefighter Stephen Siller for her 9-11 project. She connected with the Siller Foundation to learn about Stephen to create a memorial gift. After attending after school sessions and learning about the events of September 11, her experience culminated with a school trip to New York to visit the memorial, visit fire stations, and meet with families of the fallen firefighters. It was the most powerful lesson she and I have experienced. We hope to do the actual tunnel to tower event some year, but for this year, will participate in the virtual event. Please consider participating in some way, (donating, running, lighting a candle on September 11) to help the amazing work the Siller Foundation does and to ensure that we will never forget.
The Tunnel to Towers: Never Forget Virtual Challenge is a challenge to have people do one thing to honor and remember the sacrifice of 9-11. It is our hope that individuals, families, first responders, military and anyone who would have supported one of our Run and Climb events, including the NYC 5K Run and Walk, would take time to share how they will “Never Forget.”
Share on social media and help us to get as many people to be involved as possible. If you have attended any of our events in the past, wear your Tunnel to Towers shirt or hat, post the picture, and tag your friends. Use our hashtag #T2TNeverForget.
It’s free to join us!!!! Just share this link with your friends and family:
