Hello, and thank you for visiting my site!
My name is Shelly, and I am training for IRONMAN Coeur d'Alene 140.6, which will be held on June 27, 2021. I am honored to race on behalf of IRONMAN for Anna.
IRONMAN for Anna is a racing team that raises funds for the Anna Schindler Foundation and brings athletes together from around the nation to race for one unified purpose--to give hope and support to families fighting childhood cancer in the Inland Northwest. All proceeds from IRONMAN for Anna go toward fulfilling the mission of the Anna Schindler Foundation.
The Anna Schindler Foundation (ASF) is dedicated to support families battling childhood cancer in the Inland Northwest while raising awareness of this disease. By providing families with meal cards while their child is inpatient at the hospital, offsetting grocery, gas, car repair, lodging, living and medical expenses, etc., the Anna Schindler Foundation fulfills their mission. If a family has a need, the ASF will exhaust all efforts to lighten the load so the family can focus on the care of their child. Since November 2018, the Anna Schindler Foundation has also been providing safe, temporary housing through Anna’s Homes for pediatric oncology families from outlying areas who must stay close to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital for treatment.
On June 27, every mile of my 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run will be done in honor of the children and their families who fight cancer. These young heroes are always on our IRONMAN for Anna team's minds during the toughest parts of training, and continue to provide us with perseverence and meaningful reasons to complete every mile with purpose and gratitude.
