I’m excited to share that I am once again running in the SHAPE Women’s Half-Marathon on Sunday, April 14th! This year I decided to raise money for STOMP OUT BULLYING, a charity that means a lot to me. Having two teens growing up in today's overstimulated, over-shared and overly-accessible world is a little scary. There are so many things that my kids know that I didn't at their age. As a parent, I try my best to give my kids the tools to keep their confidence up because I know that those are the kids that are easy targets for bullies. And it's all about PREVENTION.
Bullying is an EPIDEMIC in this country. It's been around since I was a little girl growing up, but now, it is more rampant than ever. We see the direct effects it has on our children and it needs to be stopped. Kids can be mean, and it's our job as parents to show them the proper way to behave and how to treat one another. Although I would like to believe every parent is "there" for their child in that capacity to show them how to treat people, I know that is not the case.
#STOMPOutBullying is dedicated to changing the social culture for all students by working to prevent bullying, cyberbullying, and educate students against homophobia, discrimination, racism just to name a few. By teaching students effective solutions on how to respond to and deal with bullies, we are getting one step closer to STOMPING the bullies OUT!
With your kind donations, every STOMP I make in my 13.1 mile run, will be rallying to prevent bullying in our schools.
To show my appreciation for your donation to my run, my company, DASHA® will send you a gift certificate for a complimentary 30 Minute Quick Stress-Buster Massage for any donation over $50. My deadline for collecting donations is 5/15/19, and the sooner you can donate, the sooner I’ll reach my goal. Any amount is appreciated.
Thank-you in advance for your support, and please feel free to share this with your friends, family, and co-workers.
